Amalia Kouvalis

Amalia Kouvalis is a Chicago based artist with a BFA in oil painting and printmaking from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work is heavily influenced by dreams, silent films, and Victorian aesthetics. Amalia paints and illustrates representational realism while also creating mysterious and eerie auras to produce surrealist undertones. Currently, Amalia is the 2017-2018 artist in resident at Lillstreet Art Center for Printmaking & Book Arts. She is teaching adult oil painting & etching classes at The Oak Park Art League and Lillstreet Art Center.
